A ROOM FILLED WITH HOPE

Seventy-five years of people refusing to give up deserved a night that felt the same way. This is the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do.

Inside Eric Ericssonhallen, the ceiling was full of stars. Cancerfonden turned 75 in 2026. Seventy-five years since three out of ten people diagnosed with cancer survived. Today that number is seven out of ten. That is not a statistic. It is the result of generations of people who refused to stop. Researchers, donors, caregivers, and an organisation that has held the thread between all of them, year after year, decade after decade.
A cause that belongs to everyone, whether they know it yet or not. That is what we set out to honour.
The night needed to arrive somewhere before it started. So we created a film. Not a retrospective, not a highlight reel, but an opening. Produced entirely in-house, built to hold the weight and the hope of 75 years, at the same time.
When the film ended, the lights came up on a room that was ready.
Every detail had been considered. The set design, the decor, the visuals, the flow of the evening. Not to be seen. To be felt. Because the best events are the ones where guests are never pulled out of the moment. Where the only thing they are aware of is how alive the room is.
That is what the night was built for. A space so carefully held that people could be fully present in it. Free to look forward and backward at the same time. To celebrate how far the fight has come, and feel the weight of how far it still has to go. Both things, in the same room, without either one drowning out the other.
The stars still overhead. The quiet that only comes when a room is genuinely moved. Not a celebration of something finished. A gathering around something still becoming.
